An Anti-Drug Program Everyone (Who's Stoned) Can Endorse
Long-time forum member Ben Driscoll has been posting his webcomic Daisy Owl in the forum since July. Today, he shows you why they should really let stoned guys come up with anti-drug programs.

Replyamsterdam- 100% legal weed under an oz. 8% of their population smokes marijuana, which is the second lowest rate in all of europe. they also have one of the lowest crime rates in europe, once again i believe its like 2nd or 3rd lowest.
theyve made it boring; if our govt really cared, theyd do the same thing. but they make more money from trying to erradicate it
There's not much more to add about batman's stupidity, except that the real batman would have a freaking clue about what he is talking about.

Replybut seriously... drinking is like the worst thing you can do to you're body... makes you violent, causes brain damage... and it's worse on you're liver than oral anabolic steroids... in all honesty, if alcohol is legal, basically everything should be legal.
Considering that you don't know the difference between "your" and "you're," I don't think you have the competence to judge other people's life choices. Want a beer?

ReplySecond hand smoke from cigs does pretty much the same thing. Live around smokers long enough and you get what they get, whether it be simply a cough, or a bit of bad black sludge for your lungs. Why aren't cigs illegal for that reason? And how does "as many carcinogens as 9 cigarettes" make it not safer than drinking (another legal killer)? Completely irrelevant.
And finally, on the second hand weed smoke thing, you have obviously never been to a single concert in your life. The weed makes piss poor bands better (only a tad bit, but it helps)

ReplyThere's a few reasons pot isn't legal. These are ones I found interesting. The smoke in the air makes people who inhale it high, whether they want to be or not. And it isn't safer than drinking. It has as many carcinogens as 9 cigarettes.

In spite of a higher concentration of carcinogens in marijuana smoke, studies have shown that heavy marijuana use has little to no impact on the likelihood of developing cancer. Some scientists have theorized that the reason for this is that THC might encourage the death of damaged cells, which prevents the damage from spreading. Nicotine, for the record, has the opposite effect, and inhibits the destruction of cancerous cells.
Really batman? pot smoke makes people high? holy s**t alert the media. no-one is saying anyone should run around blowing pot smoke in peoples faces. by the way smoking or eating marijuana is far safer that drinking, firstly the human body cannot overdose on marijuana like it can on alcohol, and secondly marijuana is far more likely to make you paranoid and over-cautious rather that reckless. also as mronoc said tests have shown that exposure to THC may lead to the death of damaged cells and has been shown to slow and even halt the growth of tumors. by the way, you know what else has carcinogens released when you burn it? PRETTY MUCH EVERYTHING.

ReplyAlso, I haven't smoked since I was college age, either. But I still think pot ought to be legal. It's really no worse than alcohol - if anything, it's probably a lot easier on the body.
