I was arguing on the internet the other day about the whole immune system thing . . .
ReplyWhy was I arguing on the internet?
lol peta
ReplyJust want to say that not only did I find this highly entertaining, but it was ALSO the topic of my next health unit. A+ on the test bitch! Thanks so much! :)
ReplyActually physiological responses to stress include the build-up of fatty acids which can lead to cardiovascular complications, but there is no direct link between stress and heart attacks or other hearth problems.
ReplyWhile it may be correct to say that there is no direct link between stress and heart attacks (or death in general), it would be incorrect to claim "there is no direct link between stress and...other hearth [sic] problems."
I will assume that, in your attempt to prove the first claim, you typed the second claim in error. I very much appreciate your desire to uphold scientific accuracy on this overly simplified, egregiously misnamed 'chart.'
I loved this, good job!
ReplySpent the whole time reading thinking about the Oatmeal and wondering about creative style rights and the progression of comic art.
ReplyFunny, but how is it a chart?
ReplyThe bunny is also displaying the classic Oh Sh*t face.
ReplyBest chart in a while. Good f*****g job, sir
ReplyHaha good job! funny and informative :)
ReplySkipped this, yesterday, for unknown reasons. Glad I came back to it.
Replyskipped this yesterday, for unknown reasons... glad I came back to i.
ReplyInfographics saved as jpegs make my eye twitch. But other than the artifacts, this has awesome artwork, info, and humor. I like the pigeon projectile pooping at a cat.
ReplyI just finished reading a Christina article and I gotta say...I wish her factual-inform-the-readers articles had more of this type of humor. I was amused, informed, didn't feel like killing myself for the wasted time and agreed with the sentiment because the author didn't go overboard. Great artwork and good job!
ReplyI agree. Sometimes I just can't stand being on this site because of how some authors present their facts. They don't just present them with "This is how it is" or a nice, comedic attitude. It almost seems like they're always taking the "you all are stupid because you don't know this" attitude. It's really frustrating, and as this chart demonstrates, no good for our bodies to be stressing about. Especially when we're using sites like this for relaxing!
I completely agree with Kob and SlowYo. You guys pretty much hit the nail on the head :) I haven't honestly enjoyed a chart like this is f*****g forever. Pretty Good. And SlowYo, I get what you are saying. Some of the Christina articles have alot of f*****g potential, it's just the matter of how they are written mostly and how they are recieved.
Just wanted to say I like the style of the cartoons here. :) Good work!
Replythe bunny captions made me laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaauugth
ReplyFantastic.. funny and useful, Perfect way to impart wisdom!
ReplyHoly s**t I needed this good laugh.
ReplyI want this comic in poster size. It'll be on a door for all to see.
ReplyBosses may scare you but I've been in a safari where the zookeepers bring bait on the jeep to lure tigers there. The scare factor you see on a tiger having lunch and at the same time looking at you is off the scale compared to any human being.
