Serious question: if the U.S. ever fully falls, does the world finally decide “ok, seriously, we're not calling it ‘soccer’ anymore?" Don't underestimate how seriously the world takes soccer/footie: soccer fields nearly caused a second Cuban Missle Crisis. Not to mention soccer started a war between Honduras and El Salvador.
Anyway, it's weird that the most popular sport in the world has two names, and the name that makes sense is used by the most popular sport in the U.S., and that sport isn't football. Well, it is football, but…ah who knows at this point. Let's go play some soccer, whaddya say?
