Christopher Nolan

For being one of the most original and thoughtful directors in 21st century Hollywood, Christopher Nolan sure does repeat himself a lot. So many Nolan characters have dead wives we're starting to wonder if the man himself gets sideways glances from insurance companies. We said Tenet “looks like the most Christopher Nolan movie imaginable" and you knew exactly what we meant before reading. But Christopher Nolan is not a man of subtlety, which is probably why he was the perfect fit to make two and a half perfect Batman films. We don't know if “not a man of subtlety” explains “drops $500,000 camera into the sea," but they're probably related, right?
