Joy Behar Congratulated the Wrong Jimmy for Hosting the Oscars

For any hosts of The View who need a refresher, Jimmy Kimmel is the one who loves to remind everyone that he’s feuding with Donald Trump on social media. Jimmy Fallon is just the one who fluffs Trump’s hair

This past Sunday, Kimmel hosted the 96th annual Academy Awards, his fourth time performing as master of ceremonies and second stint in a row. The response to Kimmel’s praise and prodding of the Hollywood elite in his mercifully mid-length opening monologue has been generally positive, except for the reception of that uncomfortable and uncalled-for moment when he laid into Robert Downey Jr.’s past drug addiction — and, of course, excluding the reaction by the former president whom Kimmel quoted toward the end of the show as asking on Truth Social, “Has there EVER been a WORSE HOST than Jimmy Kimmel at the Oscars?”

Joy Behar believes that a negative review from Trump is the most ringing endorsement an Oscars host could earn, and she attempted to express such a sentiment to the night’s MC, but while drafting her congratulatory email, she accidentally sent the missive to Jimmy Fallon, not Jimmy Kimmel. At 81 years old, we should just be impressed that Behar can send an email, regardless of the Jimmy on the other end of it.

“I thought that Jimmy Kimmel’s joke about ‘Isn’t it past your jail time’ was so spot-on and the fact that Trump was on his Truth Social or whatever writing all this stuff," Behar explained on today’s episode of The View. “Well, I know Jimmy, so I decided I’d write him an email to congratulate him on taking on this fascist with a joke, because comedians rule. But I sent it to Jimmy Fallon.”

“I don’t think there’s anybody sitting at this table who has never sent the wrong email to the wrong person,” Whoopi Goldberg, 68, offered to to make her co-host feel better about the mix-up.

Behar, however, wasn’t having it. “I’m so technologically stupid it’s a wonder I didn’t send it to Jimmy Carter,” she responded.

Fallon didn’t respond to Behar’s email mistake — perhaps he was too busy punishing mistakes made on the set of Tonight Show. Someone's gotta keep those crying rooms running.
