Daytime television lost a legend this weekend. While he hadn’t been the host of The Price Is Right since 2007, Bob Barker graced TV screens for 35 years, guiding contestants through a number of games in the hopes of earning amazing prizes and big money. The loss hit especially hard for those of us who have fond memories of staying home sick from school and hearing Barker’s soothing voice remind us to spay or neuter our pets through that tiny little microphone of his. At age 99, it was impossible to ignore that he passed in typical Price Is Right fashion: the closest without going over. 

Meanwhile, teen drama Riverdale came to an end after seven seasons, but not before the Archie-based adaptation caught the critical gaze of one nonprofit. OPEN, the Organization for Polyamory and Ethical Non-monogamy, slammed the show for exploiting polyamory in its series finale that shockingly revealed that its four main characters have been in a “quad relationship.” The group, founded just last year, had hoped the show would engage with the non-traditional lifestyle in a way that was authentic. The outrage is proof that hell has no fury like a person who has read The Ethical Slut.
