Here’s the Real Guy Who Got to Hang Out with Jesus and Randy Marsh in the ‘South Park’ Premiere
The recent season premiere of South Park featured the return of the core gang of kids, plus appearances from some more surprising characters such as Jesus Christ and Saddam Hussein/Donald Trump. Not to mention how it contained the series debut of Trump’s googly-eyed talking micropenis.
But one of the most notable cameos was from a random guy that nobody other than his friends and family have ever heard of.
As we mentioned earlier this year, following the devastating L.A. wildfires, South Park Studios announced a contest in which the grand prize winner would “Become a Permanent Resident of South Park!” Not because Comedy Central would force them to relocate them to Colorado, but because the show would include their cut-out animation doppelganger in the new season.

People could only enter by donating to The SoCal Fire Fund. “A majority of our crew and the South Park production studio are in Los Angeles, and several people were directly impacted by the fires in Pasadena, Altadena and Palisades, which makes your support and donations even more meaningful,” a statement from the show explained.
To celebrate “South Park Day,” the show’s Instagram account shared a number of photos of fans’ South Park costumes, tattoos and trips to Casa Bonita, as well as revealing the identity of who won the contest. Apparently, it was a guy named “Paul T.” who can be seen in the crowd behind Jesus during his climatic speech in “Sermon on the ‘Mount.”
Fans on Reddit managed to suppress their raging jealousy in order to congratulate Paul T. Although some admitted that they assumed that his character was actually supposed to be David Blaine (who does have a history with Jesus).
Prior to the announcement, one fan had already scoured the episode for unnamed randos who could have been the contest winner. And the bearded extra who turned out to be Paul T. was among the six suspects they identified.
Of course, Paul T. didn’t get quite as prominent a role as some previous contest winners, like the guy who showed up in the show’s opening credits back in 2010. Or the dude who won a charity auction and was immortalized as the host of South Park’s ManBearPig symposium.
But it was all for a good cause. Also, the contest did suggest that the winning entrant would become a “permanent” resident of South Park, implying that he could show up on the show at some point in the future. Hopefully, his character isn’t a dog owner.
