14 Celebrities Who Ran For Public Office

Celebrities have a platform that the average person doesn’t have access to. For some reason, our culture has decided that if someone is good at pretending to be other people in a fictional story, is good at performing music, or is “interesting” enough to have their day-to-day life recorded in a scripted documentary, they might be good enough to lead us. It’s either our apathy or their hubris that causes them to succeed or fail.

While some egomaniac celebs win the office, many lose due to their lack of experience. In worse cases, they win and actually end up doing an OK job. In the absolute worst cases, they win office and totally screw up everything (while still having their fans). While there are the obvious celebrities-turned-politicians, there are those we absolutely forgot about.

Here are some celebrities that ran for public office that won or lost, whether it was for the better or the worse.
