Despite All That Propane, Hank Hill Still Remains Lukewarm About Korean BBQ
King of the Hill fans have long theorized that Hank would enjoy the quality meats and propane grills synonymous with Korean barbecue, saying that with a little push from his son Bobby, Hank could learn to love the DIY dinner.
“Bobby would want to try it,” one fan argued in a popular post shared to the King of the Hill subreddit. “Hank wouldn’t understand going to a restaurant to cook your own food. Eventually, he would fall in love with the built-in propane table grills, and the grilling of different meats, of course.”
“If it involved propane, he’d be on board. Remember how excited he was about a house boat powered by propane?” wrote another Redditor, while a third argued Hank would be so impressed by his meal, he’d start peddling propane after hours.
Don't Miss
“‘Now you just show up at Strickland Propane on Monday,’” they pictured a hypothetical conversation between Hank and a Korean barbecue restaurant owner. “‘I will personally make sure your propane and propane accessory needs are filled at a reasonable price.’”
Hank finally responded to this speculation during his Reddit AMA last week, and shared how conflicted he is about the dining experience. “I don’t love the idea of paying to go to a restaurant just to cook my own meat,” he explained. “On the other hand, I enjoy cooking my own meat. I’m gonna get back to you on this one.”
Hank may need some time to sort out his thoughts, but I’d like to think he’ll eventually come around. If he can learn to appreciate charcoal, I’m sure he can also learn to appreciate cooking his own food at a restaurant — especially if it involves propane.
