‘This Sounds Like A Kid’s Taekwondo Schedule’: TikTok Comedian Campaigns for the End of Hybrid Work
Lockdown is over. The masks have come off. Most of the necessary conventions of the pandemic are, for the moment, behind us. So why, then, are fully grown adults being forced to split their time between the office and their home work stations like the children of divorced parents?
Comedian Matt Buechele has had enough of the half-in, half-out nonsense that is the so-called “hybrid work schedule,” a name so sleek and trendy that it almost masks the fact that it describes a setup that somehow combines the worst of both worlds. Two days in the office, the weekdays seemingly decided at random every Thursday afternoon, plus three days at home getting messages from your coworkers who booked you for an in-office meeting, not understanding that you’re on the A rotation this week and not the C rotation. Enough.
In a viral TikTok video, Buechele has officially called out the HR ignorami of the world who somehow decided that constant instability was better for productivity than picking a side in the work-from-home vs. in-office war brought on by mandatory lockdowns. Watch it in the breakout room while your team leader struggles to get the Zoom functionality working for the people on the H schedule.
