‘You Know You Look Bad When Your Drug Dealer Doesn’t Want to Be Seen With You’: ‘Mighty Ducks’ Star Shaun Weiss Riffs on Infamous Mugshot in Stand-Up Set

In 2020, 41-year-old former child star Shaun Weiss was caught burglarizing a home in Marysville, California while high on crystal meth. The Mighty Ducks star’s sobering mugshot went viral shortly after, and following Weiss’ third criminal conviction in as many years, Weiss hit rock bottom. 

Today, Weiss is officially three years sober, and the child-star-turned-addict-turned-comic performs stand-up gigs across the country as part of The Mighty Weiss Tour. Through comedy, Weiss has turned his life around, and the Ducks goalie responsible for the best circumcision joke in a Disney film now mines the darkest parts of his personal history for comedy gold, including riffs on that infamous mug shot. In a recent stand-up gig, Weiss poked fun at his addiction by listing the things that trigger his drug cravings: “Number 1: Sunrise. Number 2: Waking up in my bed. Number 3: Birds chirping!” (No word from Weiss on quacking.)

TMZ’s video of the set is well worth the watch, and Weiss’ upcoming gigs deserve support from Ducks fans across the country. After all, “one hundred percent of the proceeds go toward helping a child actor stay off drugs,” Weiss promises.
