The fact that Jeff Goldblum plays piano in a jazz band called Jeff Goldblum & The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra is honestly one of the more mundane tidbits that we’ve ever learned about the snappy weirdo with the charming chest hair.

On last night’s episode of Late Night with Seth Meyers, the Independence Day star discussed his love of music and the origins of his orchestra, and even brought out the songbird in his host when he and Meyers went into a brief and palpably charged rendition of the song “Moon River” from the classic film Breakfast at Tiffany’s.

It’s always fun when late-night guests rope their hosts into playing some silly game with them – in this scene, the game is called, “How Close Can Seth Meyers’ Face Get To Jeff Goldblum’s Lips Before Seth Remembers He's Married?”

In the Audrey Hepburn classic, the “Moon River” scene marks the moment when the struggling writer Paul begins to fall for his flighty neighbor Holly Golightly – on Late Night with Seth Meyers, the song made Meyers begin to wonder why Steven Spielberg ever made Goldblum wear a shirt in the first place.
