29 Cartoons We Somehow Forgot All About

For many of us, our childhoods were spent in front of the electric glowing babysitter that was Saturday morning cartoons — or weekday afternoons after school, if that was more your jam. Ideally armed with a gigantic bowl of sugar-y cereal, we were endlessly entertained by the animated adventures of characters who were primarily created as 22-minute-long commercials for action figures and even more sugar-y cereals. Still, while we loved them, many have faded from our memories into nostalgic obscurity.

For every SpongeBob SquarePants or The Fairly OddParents, there are many more series that disappeared from our memories as quickly as they were introduced. There’s a special kind of sensation when they pop back into your memory, however, like long sleeping neurons in your brain awakening at hearing their name being called. Even if a large number of them were Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle knock-offs, we loved them all the same.
