Paramount Pictures Twitter Account Hacked By Apparent 'Nathan For You' Fan
The plan? Hack into an official Twitter account of a multi-billion-dollar conglomerate belonging to an ally of Donald Trump and treat them the exact same way Nathan Fielder does.
Back in April of this year, Fielder’s sophomore surrealist docu-comedy series The Rehearsal released an episode lambasting Fielder’s former patrons over in the Paramount Global empire. A decade earlier, when Fielder was still making his Comedy Central series Nathan For You, Fielder satirized a scandal involving an outdoor apparel company that paid tribute to a Holocaust-denier in one of their catalogues by promoting his own “Holocaust education”-oriented jacket brand, Summit Ice.

After Paramount removed the Summit Ice Nathan For You episode from streaming in 2023, citing concerns of antisemitism, Fielder devoted an entire episode of The Rehearsal to portraying the company as an ideological equivalent to Nazi Germany. Then, this past weekend, one tech-savvy Paramount-hater went one step further with their mockery of Trump’s favorite media giant:
Mind you, Fielder's extended assault on Paramount's supposed “sensitivity” to issues of antisemitism preceded the conglomerate's acquisition by Skydance Media, a company owned by David Ellison, son of billionaire tech mogul and Trump ally Larry Ellison. Fielder's anti-Paramount jokes also came before the company paid out a settlement to Trump over his lawsuit against 60 Minutes and canceled The Late Show with Stephen Colbert just days after the host characterized the settlement as a bribe.
Now, as the Ellisons reshape Paramount Global and its properties – including the overhauled CBS News – into a much more Trump-friendly media empire, some enterprising hacktivists are taking after Fielder in their protests against Paramount. Presumably, the culprits in this cyber attack only changed the Paramount Pictures bio to “Proud arm of the fascist regime” because they couldn't find a way to code the entire episode of The Rehearsal into the profile picture.
