‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ Fans Are Angry That Lynne Marie Stewart Was Omitted from the Emmys’ in Memoriam Segment

‘Forever the most beautiful woman in Puppetland’

Though It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia fans have endured 20 years of snubs from the Television Academy, they still hoped the Emmys would take the time to honor the late, great Lynne Marie Stewart.

Stewart, who played Miss Yvonne on Pee-wee’s Playhouse, and more recently starred as Bonnie Kelly for 17 seasons on Always Sunny, died last February at age 78. But despite this storied legacy, Stewart was omitted from the Emmys’ In Memoriam segment, which left fans seething on behalf of the most beautiful woman in Puppetland.

“The Emmys didn’t honor my Queen Lynne Marie Stewart, and I’m upset about (it) so here’s my post honoring the best to ever do it,” one fan captioned a pair of photos of the actress.

“No Lynne Marie Stewart for the #Emmys In Memoriam?” asked a second

Over on Reddit, Always Sunny fans decided to take matters into their own hands, and honor Stewart in a now-viral thread on the Always Sunny subreddit. “She’s an icon,” wrote one, as another expressed their frustration in the most Dennis Reynolds way possible. “Seriously? Fuck that,” they seethed. “I’m angry. I’m starting to get that Neck thing.”

But as several Redditors noted, Stewart didn’t need a slot at the Emmys to prove how loved she was by her fans and colleagues alike. “IASIP did right by her in that final episode,” one argued, referencing the show’s minute-long tribute to their “sweet Lynne” following the show’s Season 17 finale last month.

Or as they concluded, “It’s ironic how the Gang is actually some of the classiest, most supportive people in show biz in real life!”
