It is a sad but true fact that throughout history, children have been subjected to some of the most inhumane and horrific treatments imaginable. From being poisoned by lead paint in Victorian toys, to being exploited and forced into labor, to being used as test subjects in unethical experiments, to being recruited as child soldiers, and even to being raffled off for charity. It is a dark and shameful part of our past, but it is a part that must be remembered and acknowledged.
