‘What are you doing here?’
Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Fallon Pointed Their Viewers to Jimmy Kimmel Last Night

If you’re wondering who wasn’t tuned in to Jimmy Kimmel’s triumphant return to ABC last night, Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Fallon had the same question.

On Tuesday evening, both Colbert and Fallon kicked off their respective shows by poking fun at their most loyal fans for watching them instead of the highly anticipated comeback of Jimmy Kimmel Live!

“I want to say thanks to everybody in here and to everybody watching from home, who I think might be just my wife Evie,” Colbert kicked off his monologue before joking that “everybody else is probably watching ABC.”

The Late Show host, however, didn’t seem too bothered by a potential dip in viewers. “I’m glad Kimmel’s back,” Colbert added, taking care to describe his colleague as “a wonderful fellow.”

Though Fallon has remained largely tight-lipped on the Kimmel saga and quickly changed the subject to President Trump’s trip to the U.N. General Assembly, late-night fans still appreciated his and Colbert’s willingness to pay it forward.

“Really love how they’ve always had each other’s backs, especially now,” wrote one Twitter user, while another described their comments as “heartwarming.”

Still, per one fan’s very meta pitch, both Fallon and Colbert could have gone even a step further:
