Nathan Fielder Has An Idea for ‘The Rehearsal’ Season Three, HBO Boss Says
Nathan Fielder just might be ready to bring another season of The Rehearsal to life.
The surrealist comedy failed to take home any hardware during Sunday night’s Emmy Awards, but HBO CEO Casey Bloys isn’t worried. He recently told Deadline that the network is ready whenever Fielder is to get started on Season Three of The Rehearsal — however long that may take.

“Nathan, obviously, takes a lot of time to think,” Bloys said shortly after the award ceremony, teasing that Fielder might already have a concept in mind. “He’s thinking about something, he’s turning something over his head. So when he’s ready to do it, we’ll do it because I think he is a comic genius.”
As HBO has yet to formally greenlight The Rehearsal for a third season, it may be some time before fans know what, exactly, Fielder has in store for the series. But that didn’t stop them from speculating what new episodes of The Rehearsal could look like on the show’s subreddit.
“A season on him ending the conflicts in Ukraine and Israel,” argued one viewer, explaining that the show’s objective would be to “win a Nobel Prize by using HBO’s money.”
“I’m not ready to find out he masterminded the Labubu craze,” joked another as a third based their Rehearsal theory on the rumors claiming that Fielder has been spending time with disgraced Theranos founder, Elizabeth Holmes, as she serves her 11-year federal prison sentence.
“I really think he’s gonna do something with Elizabeth Holmes and how her idea was a good idea, it was all the fraud that made people not take her seriously,” they wrote. “Just like nobody takes Nathan’s ideas seriously because he’s a comedian.”
After The Rehearsal’s high-flying finale last May, Fielder offered Rolling Stone’s Stephen Rodrick an off-the-record hint at what the show’s future could hold, sharing an unused idea for the series’ second season “that may still be in play” for upcoming episodes. “Just the concept is appropriately surreal and astounding,” Rodrick spilled of Fielder’s redacted vision.
It may be vague, but hey, I’ll take that over random angel numbers any day.
