The New ‘Futurama’ Trailer Just Dropped A Hilarious Joke About the Death of America

Many Americans in 2025 are incredibly worried about the future of our country, but, much like Futurama, what looks now like the end of an empire will be followed up with a reboot.

We are now just weeks away from the September 15th debut of Futurama Season 13, the third such season in the Hulu revival, and at a time when the state of our union looks so very dire, American Futurama fans are antsy for some comedic distraction. Right now, the country may be crumbling to pieces as the populace grows increasingly divided, but if the history knowledge of Professor Hubert J. Farnsworth is to be trusted, united we shall stand, even when America itself moves on to plan B.

Earlier today, Hulu released the official trailer for Season 13, which featured a scene where Hermes Conrad stares dumbfounded at an archaic electronics port and asks the Professor, “What’s USB?”

While the Professors prediction of the “collapse of the USA” may frighten fans from the Land of the Free, we can take solace in the reveal that there will be a Land of the Free 2 — although, who knows what the democracy situation will look like in Bamerica. But, more than that, Futurama fans should feel excited that the series is coming back, and that Amy Wong is finally out of the closet after so many seasons of speculation about her bisexuality.

Also, its worth pointing out that 73-year-old Billy West sounds like his vocal chords are in a much better place than they were during other points in the Hulu revival. The strained vocal performances were a consistent point of criticism among the Futurama fandom during the first two reboot seasons, but now the entire cast sounds to be in tip-top shape.

While the world of the 31st century may not feel as fresh and exciting going into its 26th year of existence, at least the Futurama sense of humor seems to be intact and thriving — unlike the United States of America 1.
