Kim Kardashian Doesn’t Know How Nikki Glaser Handles Roasts: ‘It’s Abuse’

Did anyone have a worse time at the Tom Brady roast than Kim Kardashian

From the crowd’s merciless booing to catching strays from other roasters, Kardashian may have been more scarred by the evening than Brady’s children. Appearing on Jake Johnson and Gareth Reynold’s We’re Here to Help podcast, fellow roaster Nikki Glaser shared some DMs that revealed Kardashian’s reaction to her rocky night.

Kardashian reached out first to a surprised Glaser, with a message that can be neatly summarized as “You killed it on the roast.” Glaser DMed back: “Oh my god, I was trying to make eye contact with you every chance I could to mouth to you, ‘You fucking killed, girl, which was no surprise after your SNL monologue which was elite. You are so talented, thank you so much for writing me, it was so nice.’” (Note to Glaser: Kardashian is so talented?)

Glaser wasn’t sure if Kardashian responded, so she checked live on the podcast. Sure enough, there was a reply! “Aww thanks, and YOU killed it,” Kardashian wrote. “I don’t know how you do this. It’s abuse LOL.”

Admittedly, Glaser had an easier night of it than Kardashian. While the enthusiastic reaction to Glaser’s set left her feeling like “Taylor Swift for a day,” Kardashian’s outing was decidedly rougher. Here are some of the ways she felt the “abuse”…

The Boos

No one got the “get lost” treatment from the crowd like Kardashian, who was greeted with lusty boos. The outbreak was so long and loud that host Kevin Hart had to give the assembled a “Whoa, whoa, whoa!” to get them to ease up.

For better or worse, Netflix edited out the jeers for the non-live version of the roast, prompting more criticism for Kardashian after everyone assumed she asked for the cut. Netflix insisted Kardashian had nothing to do with the revisionist history, and the streamer just cut the boos on its own.

The Insults

The Independent reported insult comic Tony Hinchcliffe was facing online backlash after sexist jokes directed at Kardashian during the roast. “Kim Kardashian’s here. She’s had a lot of Black men celebrating her end zone,” Hinchcliffe joked. “Kim, word of advice, close your legs. You have more public beef than Kendrick and Drake.”

But was that any worse than the slaps delivered by Brady himself? “I know Kim was terrified to be here tonight,” he deadpanned. “Not because of this, but because her kids are at home with their dad.”

The Aftermath

Roasters were still taking shots at Kardashian after the show. Comic Andrew Schulz weighed in on his Flagrant podcast, telling listeners he thought she was “disassociated” during the broadcast. He compared Kardashian to a “robot where she can essentially control what it says, but there’s no human aspect to it.”

“She sat with perfect posture for three hours straight. I’ve never seen anything like that. Completely unaffected,” he continued. Even the boos couldn’t get through, Schulz explained. “It didn’t make her smile. It didn’t make her sad. It was nothing.”
