Is James Corden the Awful Kisser Emily Blunt Has Been Talking About?
Emliy Blunt says that an awful kiss with a past scene partner made her want to throw up — James Corden said the same thing when the waiter brought him his eggs this morning.
Longtime fans of the British actress will know that, for years, Blunt has been bemoaning an on-screen kiss that left such a bad taste in her mouth that she wanted to wash it out with vomit. Most recently, the leading lady told Howard Stern on his titular radio show that she “absolutely” wanted to be sick after a certain kiss with another actor from one of her many big-budget movies, explaining that her seemingly supernatural ability to create chemistry with actors whom she enjoys neither physically not socially is a skill that comes with experience.
Or as Blunt told Stern, “I’ve been doing this long enough. I could have chemistry with this water bottle at this point. You know how to conjure it. But it’s just easier when you have a natural rapport with someone.”

“I’ve got to find something I love about everybody,” the A Quiet Place Star continued. “I have to find something — even if it’s one thing. It might be like they have a nice laugh or I like how they speak to people, they’re polite. I mean, it might be something random.”
Well, as her fans pointed out on Twitter, it would take an exceptionally empathetic actress to find something to like about a certain Cats star.
In 2014, Blunt appeared opposite Corden in the musical fantasy film Into the Woods, based on the Stephen Sondheim musical by the same name. Corden played The Baker while Blunt had the “honor” of portraying The Baker’s Wife as they set out to break a curse placed on The Baker’s family by The Witch, played by Meryl Streep. Apparently, Sondheim was as good at naming characters as Corden (possibly) is at smooching.
Always polite, Blunt declined to name which co-star was the worst kisser of her career, but we can reasonably infer that her husband from Into the Woods is higher on the list of candidates than her actual husband and A Quiet Place co-star and director John Krasinski. Still, it would be hilarious if, contrary to what us haters believe, the last Late Late Show host secretly has the best lips in the business and Blunt’s mystery make-out disaster was with her Jungle Cruise co-star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
Maybe The Rock ruined his make-out sesh with Blunt by turning it into a competition. As we all know, the WWE legend has a contract stipulation saying that he refuses to lose a fight on screen — maybe that includes tongue wrestling.
