Jon Stewart Tells Anti-Woke Comedians to ‘Shut the F*** Up’

Jon Stewart Tells Anti-Woke Comedians to ‘Shut the F*** Up’

Jon Stewart helped kick off the first days of the Netflix Is a Joke Festival with a snootful of righteous indignation, according to The Hollywood Reporter, firing darts at a number of targets including comedians who strut around in their anti-woke pants. In particular, Stewart is “so fucking sick” of those comics and their “go woke and go broke” mantra.

“What are you losing? ‘You can’t say anything anymore.’ What do you want to say?” Stewart asked an imaginary anti-woke comic during his set at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles. “Shut the fuck up. And by the way, the people who talk about anti-woke are the biggest fucking pussies you would ever find.”

In particular, Stewart lit up conservative comics who got hot and bothered over Bud Light and its controversial partnership with trans influencer Dylan Mulvaney. “I’m just so tired of it. The woke shit, you lose nothing. I’m a comedian. I’ve lost two words in 35 years,” Stewart said about insensitive phrases he no longer uses in his comedy. “Honestly, are you that fucking unimaginative that you can’t figure it out?”

Stewart saved some of his most pointed barbs for non-conservatives, specifically those who say comedians shouldn’t joke about President Biden’s age. “I know liberals say, ‘Don’t say Joe Biden is old’ — don’t say what people see with their own eyes! You can say it, he can’t hear us,” Stewart jabbed. “I know you know how fucking old he is, and I know you don’t want to say it because Trump is so scary, but he’s so fucking old. When you watch him on television, you’re nervous, aren’t you?”

Trump has the advantage of deluded supporters and the ability to lie his way out of trouble, Stewart said, but he’s an even worse option. “Why are we allowing this?” ranted the Daily Show host. “And now we’re going to have a president from the two oldest people that have ever run for the office of the presidency.”

Stewart isn’t the only Daily Show alum performing at the Netflix comedy festival. Late last week, Hasan Minhaj hosted a showcase for up-and-coming comics, according to Variety. Minhaj addressed both his scandal over stretching the truth in his stand-up and losing the Daily Show hosting gig. “We’ve all failed in our lives, but have you ever failed so bad, you bring back Jon Stewart?” Minhaj joked. “I saved a dying institution. You’re welcome.”
