23 Movies That Rule Despite Being Mostly Just Talking

It seems like movies these days are mostly just a series of plot devices intended to sweep us from one location to another, ideally via car chase or supervillain showdown. Whatever happened to dialogue? It used to be more than just the snappy quips characters exchanged as they hung from cliffs or raced through the sky. Entire movies could happen without anything really happening, at least not outside the characters’ mouths, and we don’t mean in a 50 Shades way.

Well, it’s time we celebrated the talky movie, and Redditors clearly agree. When user Sponger555 asked r/AskReddit, “What’s a great movie that’s mostly just dialogue?” they counted down the classics and even threw in some modern chatterboxes to prove that prattle ain’t dead.
