Kathy Griffin: Male Comics Are ‘Pigs’ and ‘I’ve Seen All Their Penises’
When Kathy Griffin says she’s seen it all in this business, she means all of it. The comic has been in comedy so long, she tells Page Six, that she’s witnessed everything male comics have to offer. “Guy comics are pigs. They’re all pigs,” she says. “I’ve been around a long time. I’ve seen all their penises.”

“I’ve been at every party back in the day when they’d be like, ‘Kat, Look! My penis is a wristwatch,'” she says. “I’m like, ‘Yes, I get it. We’ve seen it again.’”
Any comics in particular that Griffin wants to call out? Not exactly, but she’ll at least narrow it down to a decade. The act of male comics exposing their junk was standard operating procedure in the ‘90s, she says. In those days, it wasn’t uncommon for a fellow comedian to reveal himself at a party and dry-hump Griffin “with an exposed penis.”
Yikes.
Back in the day, Griffin says, a “big joke” was for a male comic to grab her and “pretend like he was butt f**ing you,” she says. It happened to many of her fellow comics, she says, noting that male comics seemed to consider her one of the fellas. “They don’t think of me as a girl.”
What empowers male comics to think that kind of behavior is in any way, shape or form acceptable? Griffin has a theory that one might call “the Pete Davidson Hypothesis.” Davidson, the theory goes, is representative of the typical male comedian because “guy comics always get women that are too hot for them,” she says. “And I think it makes them lose their minds.”
“A lot of these guys are not, how shall I say, conventionally attractive,” says Griffin. “And I’m just going to say that because I’ve been called ugly my whole career. So these guys don’t just want a nice girl or a good woman.”
Griffin admits that Davidson is talented, joking that she chose him as an example out of “pure bitterness” — he has an agent and at the moment, she does not. She’s still reeling from the repercussions of posting a mock picture of the bloody, decapitated head of Donald Trump, an outraged online protest that led to losing a lot of work. But she appears to be on the comeback trail, with health issues mostly behind her and a recent sold-out show at the Mirage in Vegas.
“I want to do another special,” she says. “I want to go on tour.” Presumably without any male comics from the ‘90s.
