FCC Chair Brendan Carr’s Biggest Problem With His ‘South Park’ Depiction Isn’t What You’d Think
While the President of the United States has yet to weigh in on his South Park doppelganger and its cartoon micropenis, a number of Trump administration officials have publicly commented on their onscreen parodies.
For example, U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem called Trey Parker and Matt Stone “petty” and “lazy” after South Park ridiculed her in the episode “Got a Nut.” On the other hand, Vice President JD Vance bragged “I’ve finally made it” after his South Park debut that same week. But keep in mind that Vance's comment came before the show introduced a steamy love affair subplot involving him and his boss.

Now FCC Chairman Brendan Carr has decided to address his depiction on the show for the first time. The show’s take on Carr was especially brutal, coming very soon after his threats against ABC seemingly inspired Jimmy Kimmel’s brief suspension. When we first met South Park’s Carr in “Conflict of Interest,” he got Home Alone-d by Trump down a flight of stairs, suffered from explosive diarrhea that tossed him around the room like a rag-doll and ultimately contracted toxoplasmosis after having a pile of cat litter dumped on his head.
But even after that gauntlet of humiliation, Carr’s biggest issue with the show, oddly, seems to be what kind of underwear he’s seen wearing.
Per The Hill, Carr recently responded to a social media post about the show’s lack of censorship by suggesting “if I’m going to be a repeat character… I should note for the record that I wear boxers not briefs.”
Presumably, Carr is referring to the scene from the very end of his first episode, in which he’s laid up in a hospital bed after ironically losing his freedom of speech. The South Park version of Carr doesn’t seem to be wearing briefs, however, more like white boxer briefs.
Still, hopefully Parker and Stone will respect these wishes and ensure that any future portrayals of Carr will have him shitting himself while wearing boxer shorts.
At the time, it didn’t escape many viewers’ notice that Carr’s arm cast conspicuously had him giving a “persistent sieg heil.” But apparently Carr isn’t that bothered that the show is comparing him to a literal fascist, just as long as he’s a fascist wearing the correct undergarments.
