The Next Episode of ‘The Simpsons’ Will Find a Beloved Character Becoming a Toxic Bro
After last week’s ’90s nostalgia-packed season premiere, The Simpsons has moved on to a more contemporary subject: the manosphere. Which is a whole lot less fun than the Wigshere.
While one might expect that a story about toxic masculinity would focus on the show’s alpha meatheads, like Rainer Wolfcastle or Duffman, the episode will reportedly be all about Superintendent Chalmers, aka Super Nintendo Chalmers.
According to the episode’s official synopsis, “Keep Chalm and Gary On” will find Gary Chalmers getting a job at the Springfield nuclear power plant where he “discovers huge mutated snails that produce valuable slime, launching the superintendent's new career as a man-o-sphere guru.” And you can bet that the already miffed nuclear power industry isn’t going to love the whole “mutated snail” storyline.

Looking at the promotional images that have been released, it appears as though Superintendent Chalmers even grows a beard, giving him a highly unfortunate, distinctly Andrew Tate-esque look.
Presumably a lot of casual Simpsons fans may be shocked to learn that Superintendent Chalmers will become a douchey bro in Season 37, given the fact that he was originally a no-nonsense stick-in-the-mud foil for Principal Skinner. When he made his first appearance in Season Four’s “Whacking Day,” Chalmers was just a bland bureaucrat with zero personality.
After all, this is the same guy who dryly debated whether or not Albany residents refer to grilled hamburgers as “steamed hams” — and who briefly entertained the suggestion that the aurora borealis could be localized entirely with one guy’s kitchen.
But, as we’ve mentioned before, in recent years, Superintendent Chalmers has become Springfield’s horniest resident. Last season, he even tried to hit on Marge before revealing that he’s also been having an affair with Milhouse’s mom Luann. In another episode, we learned that Chalmers has been hooking up with not one, but two Springfield Elementary employees: Ms. Hoover and Lunchlady Dora.
Which, in retrospect, makes his past outrage at Principal Skinner and Mrs. Krabappel's relationship pretty hypocritical.
Hopefully Chalmers’ shifty male wellness career change will be short-lived, thus allowing him to get back to inspecting schools/seducing every female resident of Springfield.
