‘I Dream of Jeannie’s Barbara Eden Sounds Off on Alleged Feud With ‘Bewitched’s Elizabeth Montgomery
Fifty-five years after I Dream of Jeannie’s final episode, Barbara Eden is back at our service, this time dispelling decades of rumors pitting her against late Bewitched star Elizabeth Montgomery.
Eden, now 94, recently revealed what actually went down between her and Montgomery, recalling that while the two “did not have a lot of time to talk or be girlfriends,” the star still “enjoyed” spending time with her as they got ready for their respective close-ups.
“We would be in the makeup department in the morning, getting ready for our scenes,” she told Fox News Digital, adding that Montgomery was “always pleasant” to be around on the Columbia Pictures lot.

Part of this distance, Eden elaborated in an interview with People, came from their early call times. “The only time we saw each other was at six in the morning,” Eden remembered. “We were not really Chatty Cathy at that time of the morning, at least I’m not. It was hello, goodbye. It’s good to see you. Things like that.”
Eden star first opened up about her relationship with Montgomery back in 2013, recalling how they bonded over motherhood during Bewitched’s 60th Anniversary Special. “We were both pregnant together,” Eden explained. “We both had our babies around the same time." As such, Eden argued, “if there was any perceived rivalry, it was the producers’ invention.”
Hopefully this means that after a half century of whispers of beef between the two, these faulty rumors will now return to their lamp in a haze of pink, sparkly smoke.
