Kaitlin Olson Really Wants You to Know She Went to College

Kaitlin Olson’s role as Dee Reynolds largely consists of debaucherous acts like prodigious vomiting, screaming expletives and diving headfirst into parked cars, but she really wants you to know she’s actually a trained actress.

Olson’s mission to prove her acting chops began on Tuesday, when the FXX sitcom’s official Instagram account took a look back at some of her character’s most gag-inducing moments. “It’s her god-given talent,” they captioned the supercut of Dee puking from everything from bad pasta to stand-up comedy nerves.

After sparking questions about, how exactly, Olson mastered the art of grotesque sound effects, the actress made it clear that these skills weren’t actually god-given. They came from a whole lot of serious studying, thank you very much. “I went to college,” Olson, who earned a bachelor’s degree in theater arts from the University of Oregon in 1997, captioned the clip on her Instagram Story. 

But this clarification didn’t stop the show’s account from uploading yet another Dee compilation. On Thursday, it posted a different video of Dee repeating her unofficial “goddamnit” catchphrase for 90 seconds straight. In turn, Olson doubled down on how she’s putting her studies to good use.

“Four full years of college,” she wrote alongside the clip in an Instagram Story. “A degree and everything.” 

We believe you, Kaitlin. It takes a lot of serious training to make dancing like an inflatable car guy look good.
