Jason Biggs Says ‘American Pie’ Would Be An Anti-Woke Hit If It Came Out Today
Jason Biggs says that you couldn’t make American Pie today without upsetting women's groups across the country, or without galvanizing the men's rights movement.
Generations Z and younger may have a hard time grasping the fact that, before their time, there existed an entire movie genre called the “teen sex comedy,” and those films played it a little fast-and-loose with concepts like “consent” and “assault.” Hell, back in the 1980s, “classic” movies like Revenge of the Nerds taught impressionable young men that rape by deception can sometimes be a punchline instead of a felony, which, by comparison, almost makes a famous scene in the era-defining 1999 comedy American Pie seem more tame — but certainly not any more acceptable by any era’s sex crime laws.
As Biggs discussed in a recent interview with Fox News, his breakthrough hit American Pie would be massively controversial if it premiered in a modern cultural climate that is more cognizant of women’s issues and the effect that media has on young men’s concept of acceptable sexual behavior. Conversely, Biggs believes that such a controversy would make American Pie an equally massive hit with the far-right side of the culture wars, who would, undoubtedly, rally behind the movie the moment that a feminist organization criticized that one scene with Shannon Elizabeth.

Of course, for American Pie to be an alt-right hit, the studio would have to make some changes that would affect Bigg’s performance as Jim Levenstein — the anti-woke crowd would never watch a new movie with a Jewish lead character.
“Comedy is changing. What you can sort of get away with. I mean, we certainly couldn’t do a lot of those things now, you know, and we shouldn’t, but we did, and it was a reflection of the time,” Biggs said when asked about how America Pie would play to a modern audience, though he added, “I think there are things that people will still allow themselves to laugh at given the context of the movie.”
Biggs maintained that the agency of (some of) the female characters keeps the movie relatable a quarter-century later, but he understands why certain scenes — one scene in particular — probably wouldn’t play well today.
As anyone familiar with American Pie knows, a central plot line in the film revolves around Jim’s “study session” with a Czech exchange student named Nadia, during which a spy camera installed by Stifler livestreams Nadia getting undressed and masturbating when she believes she is alone in Jim’s room. Jim then walks in on her, a move which, in the porn-brained world of American Pie, Nadia finds unbearably arousing — Nadia immediately invites Jim to consummate his crush, only for him to prematurely ejaculate twice. The footage of the entire incident is accidentally forwarded to the whole school, leading to Nadia literally getting deported back to the Czech Republic in shame.
While Nadia’s famous scene would certainly play more creepy and sex-crime-y today than it did back in 1999, Biggs worries that, for a frightening amount of young men, the non-consensual aspects of American Pie might be part of the appeal. “I feel there’s a part of society who would feel like, ‘Oh, yay, anti-woke. We can laugh at anything. Anything goes,’” Biggs posited of how American Pie would perform if it premiered in 2025. “And then maybe there’d be a part that would be understandably offended by some of the things.”
“The scene with Nadia and filming her, unbeknownst to her, like that’s not something … I think everyone should be in agreement that that’s not an okay thing to do,” Biggs said of American Pie’s most famous and infamous scene, even though he obviously understands that his feelings about it are far from universal. Hell, looking at the Fox News comment section, many conservative American Pie fans are offended that Biggs would even acknowledge how Nadia’s big scene would and should result in a felony charge for a real-life teenage boy.
“I disagree. I think American Pie would be even a bigger hit for the majority of America if it was put out today,” one mildly literate commenter wrote while completely missing — and proving — Biggs’ point, “The leftists and woke freak shows would whine and complain, but that would just make more people go see it!!”
Another pervert added, “I got a great movie idea. ‘Real American Woman’ starring Sydney Sweeney. Lots of immature jokes and T&A. Box office gold. In spite of the pathetic wokies.”
“Back in the 80’s & 90’s it was no holds barred,” wrote another keyboard badass. “The goal was to offend, and if you showed weakness and were offended by something then that just opened the door for more to make you melt. Youth of today wouldn’t survive back then.”
It’s funny how right-wingers think that all the woke snowflake zoomers would be triggered to death if they went to the movies back in the day, but there's a legitimate, non-zero chance that some conservative culture warrior out there had a literal heart-attack when he learned that, in 2025, Snow White is part Latina.
