‘King of the Hill’ Generated $100 Million in Streaming Revenue, New Report Shows
King of the Hill’s 14th season was quite literally worth the wait.
The Mike Judge classic has earned $100 million for Hulu since early 2020, per new data from Parrot Analytics’ Streaming Economics, placing the show on par with American Dad and slightly below Futurama, which raked in $120 million for the platform.
Within just a week of King of the Hill’s Season 14 premiere, Hank’s return to Texas brought in a record-breaking 4.4 million viewers. The show peaked at number one among Hulu’s Top 15 shows, ranking above even Love Island U.K. and The Bear. Beyond giving The Bear’s staffers yet another reason to scream at each other, the animated series set records within Hulu and Disney+’s adult animation division. In fact, its first episode, “Return of the King,” marked the streamer’s most successful adult animation premiere in roughly five years, Variety reported.

None of this is too surprising. King of the Hill boasts a near-perfect rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The rave reviews have proven that contrary to popular popular belief and whatever the hell was going on with Fuller House, reboots do have the potential to be more than just unwatchable nostalgia bait.
“It felt like I was watching the original series, as if it never got canceled in the first place,” one fan commented on a post shared to the King of the Hill subreddit. “Yes, the animation is different, everyone got older (or just old), and some of the characters got recast for one reason or another. But to me, at the end of the day, it has nearly the same feel as the original seasons.”
“It has some hiccups, but considering how huge the time gap has been, it’s remarkable how much it feels like it’s just a continuation,” agreed a second fan. “I’ve really enjoyed it.”
Forget $100 million, that’s priceless.
