Trump Says It’s Not His Fault Stephen Colbert Got Fired, Continues to Threaten Late-Night Hosts

He predicts that Fallon and Kimmel will become ‘victims’

Donald Trump thinks that not being on television is a fate worse than death; long before he became president, he would spend his days calling in to HLN to discuss the Jodie Arias case. His life’s greatest joy is being on television — this is why he thinks that what is happening to Stephen Colbert is divine punishment. While the exact role Trump has had in The Late Show getting canceled by CBS isn’t clear, there’s no doubt the president’s thin skin is a factor in the situation.

But Trump, never to let an insult lie, couldn’t take his win quietly. “Everybody is saying that I was solely responsible for the firing of Stephen Colbert from CBS, Late Night,” Trump wrote on Truth Social on Tuesday evening. “That is not true! The reason he was fired was a pure lack of TALENT, and the fact that this deficiency was costing CBS $50 Million Dollars a year in losses — And it was only going to get WORSE!”

Classy, as always. But Trump didn’t just try to add insult to injury, he wanted to threaten the remaining late-night show hosts as well. “Next up will be an even less talented Jimmy Kimmel, and then, a weak, and very insecure, Jimmy Fallon. The only real question is, who will go first?” Trump continued in his screed.

This isn’t the first time that Trump has said that the two Jimmys were slated to be canceled. Last week, the president did the same thing. “The word is, and it’s a strong word at that, Jimmy Kimmel is NEXT to go in the untalented Late Night Sweepstakes and, shortly thereafter, Fallon will be gone,” he wrote.

In response to the first threats, Kimmel posted a screenshot of the Truth Social post and implied that Trump would be going down next, due to the Epstein files scandal. Fallon took a rare stance against Trump too, performing a full song jabbing at him and his need to rile up distractions away from his probable implication with Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes.

It’s just kind of funny that Trump has identified people on television as some of his top political enemies, and in response he’s using the full might of his fascist regime to get them off the air. “The only real question is, who will go first? Show Biz and Television is a very simple business,” Trump’s Truth Social post continued. “If you get Ratings, you can say or do anything. If you don’t, you always become a victim. Colbert became a victim to himself, the other two will follow.”

Everyday, Trump tells on himself and his own rotted heart. He has been living by “if you get Ratings, you can say or do anything. If you don’t, you always become a victim” for his entire life, and unfortunately, it’s mostly worked out for him. But as his approval numbers continue to plummet and he loses support of his MAGA base, it looks like Trump’s own ratings are suffering. Does that mean he’s on track for victimhood?
