RIP Iron Sheik: Twitter’s Funniest Heel

Hossein Khosrow Ali Vaziri, better known as The Iron Sheik, passed away earlier today at the age of 81. Representatives for the Iranian-American WWE Hall of Famer posted a message on the Sheik’s instagram just hours ago, telling his fans, “Today, we gather with heavy hearts to bid farewell to a true legend, a force of nature and an iconic figure who left an incredible mark on the world of professional wrestling. It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of The Iron Sheik, but we also take solace in knowing that he departed this world peacefully, leaving behind a legacy that will endure for generations to come.”

One part of the Sheik’s lasting legacy that will bring further joy to future generations is the thousands of outrageous, hysterical and characteristically aggressive tweets that the iconic adversary of Hulk Hogan leaves behind. Unflinching and expletive-laden, the Sheik’s tweets are the standard to which all shitposters should be held if they seek the greatness that the Sheik achieved on Twitter and in the ring.
