Who Wants a Kindle?

I play D&D, and this would save on a lot of hassle dragging books around. You don't have to be crazy to get some use out of this, just a geek. :)

Funny video, but I wish it would have gotten into the pricing of the Kindle. Who on Earth has $399 to spend on this thing, plus extra fees for emails, blogging, newspaper subscriptions, and about $10 a book? Between the web and the library, I don't think anyone really needs a Kindle. Wanting one is another story...

I think it's a brilliant idea. Just like Chris said there are so many uses- it's like the internet but with verifiable sources. How stupid is it really to look up "how to defuse a bomb" on some boot-leg site when you can actually INSTANTLY reference your "Bombs for Dummies" book on your Kindle?.... the price is my main issue. It's ugly too but I could get past that part.

This thing is ugly. I just find the whole idea of the kindle (what a dumb name too) to be stupid. First of all, a book won't smash into pieces if I drop it on concrete. A book also doesn't have DRM like these things do. I predict it will fail miserably and disappear in less than 12 months.

it's actually pretty useful if put to the right application. Think about medical textbooks? Think about downloading entire regulations manuals for the military. Think about law. The pratical uses are limitless... also... i'm sure every person commenting would be poking fun at it if it only held 50 books. You'd be saying "why not put more space incase you need it for some odd reason"?
