5 of the Funniest Mr. Show Sketches

In today's interview, Tim and Eric, creators of Adult Swim's first live-action sketch show, acknowledge that their new comic creation is inspired by the HBO comedy series Mr. Show. With a number of great sketch shows hitting the air that seem to owe something to Bob Odenkirk and David Cross's inspired weirdness (Aziz Ansari's Human Giant and Sarah Silverman's new "sitcom" both come to mind), we thought it was time to take a look back at five of our favorite Mr. Show sketches.

GloboChem

Premise: Playing advertising executives, Bob and David pitch increasingly expletive laced TV spots to a conservative international corporation.
Highlight:Probably when Odenkirk tells a female GloboChem employee who objects to the swearing that he, "doesn't come down to where you work and slap the dick out of your mouth."

Life Boat

Premise: For some reason, they take a Jerry Springer-style talk show and put it on a lifeboat. And for some reason, this subtle change of scenery makes for a hilarious sketch.
Highlight:Or maybe we're just laughing at lines like, "Before I die, I'm gonna' fuck a fish" and "Life is precious. And God. And the Bible"

Oh by the way, the mini-sketch that leads into the founding fathers sketch is hilarious too. The shock-comedy guy tries to shit on it in front of a crowd and he can't... it's funnier when you see it.
