The 14 Funniest Characters in the DCEU

The DCEU is filled with amazing characters--dark villains and complex heroes. With the drama and grit, though, it can be easy to overlook how funny some of the characters in the DCEU are.

From the teenage like antics of Shazam, to the manic clown loving escapades of Harley Quinn, the DCEU is actually filled to the brim with characters who bring he comic relief in spades.

The DCEU has had a rocky evolution since Man of Steel, delivering mostly box office duds when compared to their cinematic peers, the MCU. For all its detriments early on, with joyless and gray adaptations that miss the mark, the DC universe has been slowly finding its footing and zeroing in on the balance that needs to be struck between gritty storytelling and having fun with these colorful personalities.

COMEDY NERD CRACKED.COM HARLEY QUINN JUST A GIRL IN LOVE WITH A CLOWN. We're pretty sure Harley's super power is acts so bananas that no one sees the baseball bat coming. Like with Marvel hero Spider-Man, Harley talks a mile a minute while engaged with foes, and in her case she doesn't even have proportional spider strength.

Despite his bulging physique and skill in murdering (racially diverse) foes, Peacemaker is really just a naive kid trying to make his dad proud. Unfortunately, his dad is a famous racist super villain, White Dragon.

COMEDY NERD CRACKED.COM SHAZAM 13 YEAR OLD HERO, GOING ON 30. There's just something about seeing a hero with powers comparable to Superman flossing. Billy Batson is hamming it up as the flying, monster punching Shazam because that's exactly what a teenager that suddenly gained bullet immunity would do.

COMEDY NERD CRACKED.COM VIGILANTE JUST A NEIGHBORHOOD KID THAT'S TURNED HIS BODY INTO A WEAPON. When Vigilante walked into the prison holding Peacemaker's dad, he looked overconfident. As the audience, we weren't sure if he was walking to his demise, but when he baited the white supremacists into picking an entirely one sided fight, he totally won us over.

COMEDY NERD CRACKED.COM THE JOKER (THE GOOD ONE) STANDUP so BAD IT'S PRACTICALLY AN ANDY KAUFMAN SET. Which universe does the Joaquin Phoenix Joker live in? With the next Flash movie bringing over Michael Keaton as Batman from the '89 film, there's really no character that is off limits.

COMEDY NERD CRACKED.COM THE JOKER (THE BAD ONE) A GAS STATION ENERGY DRINK THAT TURNED INTO A VILLAIN. Damagen You have to have a good sense of humor to walk into a tattoo parlor and ask for the toilet stall graffiti found in a middle school Boy's bathroom. Joker is a mob boss that is funnier than he is scary, which may not be saying much when he wears his glittery, ruby red sport coat.

COMEDY NERD CRACKED.COM SUPERMAN CLARK DECIDES TO PLAY AN EPIC PRANK ON ZOD BY SNAPPING HIS NECK. We, as viewers, know that Superman had plenty of options to stop Zod from vaporizing the four civilians in the path of his eye beams, but Superman took this opportunity to crack one last zinger: Zod's vertebrae.

COMEDY NERD CRACKED.COM THE FLASH THE CONCEPT OF BRUNCH IS LOST ON BARRY. We all know what brunch is, and that's because we perceive time at the same speed. But The Flash lives in a world stuck in slow motion, which means the concept of a meal between breakfast and lunch is as alien to him as Martian Manhunter.

When Bruce Wayne shows up to recruit Aquaman for the Justice League, fans of the comics wondered why he was so unconcerned about protecting his alter ego (the Batman). It wasn't revealed until Bruce has a full conversation with Aquaman in front of random people that the joke became obvious: he's given up.

COMEDY NERD CRACKED.COM WONDER WOMAN THE GOD KILLER, WITH A KILLER SENSE OF HUMOR! Diana Prince has no use for the laws of Man, and thus doesn't recognize how messed up it is to hook up with an unconscious man whose body is being inhabited by your dead boyfriend. Pranked!

COMEDY NERD CRACKED.COM CYBORG USING ALIEN TECH, VICTOR STONE HAS TOTAL MEME-RECALL. Не has control over the entire internet, so he can access any website, including the funniest ones like Lolcats. Was he a memer? Has he contributed to Cracked under a pseudonym? The answer is yes.

COMEDY NERD CRACKED.COM THE ONE PARADEMON THAT PUNCHED BATMAN IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD HE'S GOT GOOD AIM. The Parademons that appeared in Batman's dream of the future were unlike the ones we saw in Justice League, since they seemed to have aligned with evil Superman and his goons. Did they make a deal that as long as the humans dressed up like Warhammer 40K cosplayers they wouldn't eat them? That's pretty funny.

COMEDY NERD CRACKED.COM KATANA WHAT SHE LACKS IN CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT SHE MAKES UP FOR IN SWORD. Here's what we know about her: She... 1) has/had Rick Flag's back, 2) her sword traps the souls of her victims, and 3) you don't want to be killed by her. I guess getting killed by anyone else is fine if they don't steal your soul.

COMEDY NERD CRACKED.COM PETE DAVIDSON THE KING OF STATEN ISLAND TAKES A BREAK FROM SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE TO WORK WITH AMANDA WALLER. We don't know what Pete was doing being recruited for the Suicide Squad, maybe he was in prison for serial dating, but you can't deny he has the best comedy credentials on the team. It's unfortunate his face was blown off, but we're sure he signed a waiver.
