Vintage Halloween Looks That No Longer Make the Cut
Halloween has changed over time, and many once-popular costumes now seem outdated or inappropriate.
Decades ago, costumes were made of cheap plastic, with masks that didn't allow the eyes to be seen properly, and outfits made of fabric that tore easily. Classic horror movie characters and costumes of witches, vampires, and police officers dominated the festivities. Over time, creativity varied, and costumes became less original and more mass-produced.
Certain costumes included cultural stereotypes, and some were considered offensive. We'll review what vintage costumes were like and how the way we celebrate Halloween has changed, including pumpkins, old candies, and creative masks.
