Humility can be found all over the entertainment industry, and if anything, that can get a little boring. We’ve all seen those interviews where the host’s questions are just coy ways of dumping praise on a celebrity, but the celeb rarely takes the bait. It’s always, “Well, the script did a lot of the work for me,” or, “A lot of the praise should go to the director and the amazing crew.” Then when the director credits the acting, we’re left to wonder who the hell did a good job?! We know that their egos are swelling with pride under the surface, but after a few chats about “public perception” with their publicists, they humble that shit right up.
It’s honestly for the best. We know there are a ton of actual unsung heroes out there who have much more harrowing professions than singing, getting a ball to its desired destination, or playing make believe on camera. So yes, downplaying your ability to play dress up and put on a silly voice is probably the right move. Now can you (or your publicist) please have a little sit down with these celebrities? Because these 13 might sprain a shoulder patting themselves on the back.
