Jimmy Kimmel isn’t afraid to step in when some sleazeball puts his hands on an uncomfortable young woman, so it’s no wonder why Donald Trump is willing to trample the Constitution just to stop him.
In February 2007, Jimmy Kimmel Live! hosted one of the most peculiar pairs of guests in its 22-year history when the show invited socialite Ivanka Trump and the socially repugnant Andy Dick to co-headline the evening. A visibly intoxicated Dick quickly took the opportunity of being in groping proximity to Trump’s bare legs to entirely embarrass himself and repeatedly assault the now-President’s daughter, which provoked immediate physical intervention from Kimmel, who, along with his security staff, dragged Dick off the set by his ankles.

Last week, Jimmy Kimmel Live! went on indefinite hiatus — it’ll end up returning tomorrow night — after Kimmel criticized President Trump’s handling of the murder of Charlie Kirk, causing FCC chairman Brendan Carr to publicly intimidate ABC and its affiliates into removing Kimmel from the lineup. The Trump administration insists that the silencing of Kimmel was in reaction to his supposed “hate speech,” but the below clip is going viral again as Americans wonder whether Trump has been gunning for Jimmy Kimmel Live! all these years out of fear that, if Kimmel can stop Dick from assaulting his daughter, maybe Kimmel could stop him, too.
Following Dick’s unceremonious exit from that night’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the host told World Entertainment News Network, “Andy did a segment, he was a little out of it. (When) she (Ivanka) came out, he wanted a big, wet kiss. It was time for Andy to go, so I escorted him out by his feet.”
Kimmel further commented that he didn’t believe Dick was angry or outraged over his response to Dick’s repeated attempts to give Miss Trump the “Father’s Day Special,” as Kimmel said of the comic, “He’s Andy. He’s not upset. He’s not apologetic. He’s just nutty.”
“He always makes me a little uncomfortable, you have no idea what he’s going to do next,” Kimmel admitted of Dick, who, in the following years, would become a much more predictable and consistent predator. After constant and repeated instances of sexual battery, sexual assault and sexual harassment by the disgraced NewsRadio star, a California court finally forced Dick to register as a sex offender in 2022 after he grabbed an Uber driver’s genitals.
While Dick’s long history of disgusting and non-consensual behavior may very well have justified his current criminal status, even Kimmel must admit that the legal system’s treatment of Dick goes against its own precedent when it comes to sexual predators — usually, when a guy can’t stop grabbing at young girls, he becomes president.
