People arrive in Hollywood every day, fresh-faced and coughing slightly, convinced they’ve got the next big idea that’s going to make Warner Bros. a huge tax write-off. Nobody ever told them that the idea is the easy part. Then you’ve got to wrangle countless people with impossibly specialized talents who are perpetually hungry and running late to all work in tandem to create your vision. It’s a lot harder than it looks.

That said, a lot of great ideas get bogged down in the process. One of those infinitesimal cogs pops loose, the whole machine goes off the rails, and it’s hard not to imagine what might have been in some more competent hands.
