Quinta Brunson Calls Sweet Dee the C-Word in the ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ Season Premiere

Sweet Dee was even more contemptuous towards Janine than we thought

Only Kaitlin Olson could make the most chipper and progressive teacher in the Philadelphia public school system start talking like she’s DJ Vance at her mom’s roast.

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia Season 17 is underway following the highly anticipated series premiere, tonight’s “The Gang F***s Up Abbott Elementary,” revealing the behind-the-scenes footage from the first half of the show’s crossover with the beloved, family-friendly ABC sitcom. And, needless to say, Mac, Charlie, Dennis and Dee’s almost-school-appropriate personas in the Abbott Elementary mid-season premiere “Volunteers” were all an act while they pulled off their own surreptitious schemes to the profanity-laden ire of the Abbott cast after the fact.

But of all the devious fakers who terrorized Willard R. Abbott Elementary School for that one awful week, Deandra “Sweet Dee” Reynolds was by far the most cunning, conniving and counterfeit “volunteer.” Not only did she try to steal Janine’s boyfriend Gregory, as depicted in Abbott version of events, but, secretly, she was working with the camera crew to bring down Janine and become the star of the school’s mockumentary — not that the camera crew was exactly in on it.

Upon learning of Dee’s contravention, Janine doesn’t mince words, saying that the newly unearthed footage of Dee’s time at Abbott taught her “how much of a total fucking cunt she was.”

In “Volunteers,” Dee and Janine seem to become fast friends upon learning that they both went to Penn — Dee fails to mention that she was kicked out and institutionalized after trying to burn her roommate alive — before Dee lays eyes on Gregory and decides to compete with Janine for the heart of her love. But, as we discovered in “The Gang F***s Up Abbott Elementary,” Dees sudden switch wasnt a spur-of-the-moment decision brought on by lust, but a pre-planned, reality-show-style heel-turn that she thought would make her the star of Abbott Elementary.

Not only does Dee tell the camera crew that Janine is a “dud" and that she will “expose her for the dud she is” by destroying her relationship and career, but, apparently, Dee even picked a fistfight with Janine — one that Dee lost, claiming in a rage-fueled rant to the camera crew that she took a dive to make herself look like a victim. Unfortunately for Dee, the camera wasnt rolling.

So, yeah, the string of not-school-appropriate curse words that Janine uncharacteristically lobbed at the worlds worst volunteer teachers assistant were probably justified, and, thankfully for her, FX is a lot looser when compared to broadcast TV when it comes to Cs in school.
