New ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ Teaser Shows What Happens When You Try to Touch the Golden God’s Hair
Just one day before the premiere of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia Season 17, Dennis Reynolds is coming out to confirm that he does not wear a wig — but a little foundation on a big night never hurt anyone.
One of the foundational truths on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia is that, when it comes to personal grooming, the Golden God spares no expense and makes no mistakes, except for the occasional chemical peel here or there. Starting in the show’s very first episode, “The Gang Gets Racist,” Dennis’ self-obsession and anxiety about his perfect appearance have always been key plot points in the Gang’s schemes, but given It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’s record-breaking longevity and the realities of linear time, here in 2025, Dennis — and the rest of the Gang — aren’t quite at their “boys are out tonight” best anymore.
Don't Miss
Although the decades have made their marks on the Golden God’s divine image, that doesn’t give anyone else in the Gang permission to question his impeccably coiffed hairstyle and accuse him of wearing a wig. And, should Thor’s Hammer allow you to get close enough to reach out and touch his thunderous scalp, don't.
Observant fans will recall that, in the official It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia Season 17 trailer, Charlie Kelly shocked his followers and his fellow Gang members with a hairless look that sent Charlie Day’s real-life stans into a tailspin. In this recently released clip, Kelly’s many online admirers can rest easy knowing that Dennis was able to correct his friend’s mistake with a tasteful hairpiece that looks suspiciously similar to Kelly’s actual luscious locks.
However, Dennis’ reaction to Charlie reaching out his hand to test his own scalp does make us worry that male pattern baldness may run in his family despite his lack of genetic connection to Frank Reynolds. Was Dennis’ hand-slap the natural reaction of an apex predator threatened with the physical touch of an inferior male, or is the Golden God’s mane starting to tarnish?
