‘King of the Hill’ Fans Celebrate Buck Strickland’s Semi-Return in ‘Grand Theft Auto VI’ Trailer

After years of upsetting Hank Hill with his gambling, cheating and drinking, Buck Strickland may have finally found a place where he truly belongs: the mean streets of Leonida in Grand Theft Auto VI.
Shortly after Rockstar Games dropped the latest trailer for the highly anticipated game — now set to hit consoles in May 2026 — King of the Hill fans found themselves waiting a gottdang minute, noting just how much drug runner Brian Heder sounds like Arlen’s resident propane dealer, voiced by actor Stephen Root.
Like many details surrounding the upcoming GTA installment, Rockstar hasn’t formally announced which voice actors will be populating the game’s latest crime spree come release day. But that hasn’t stopped fans from asking questions: Namely, whether Heder has hauled propane and propane accessories alongside his famous grass.
Don't Miss
“Sounds like Buck Strickland left Arlen to be a landlord in Vice City,” Redditor CTizzle- wrote alongside the trailer in a post shared to the King of the Hill subreddit.
“100% has to be him,” speculated Feats-of-Derring_Do, while AHenWeigh added that they’d “know that voice anywhere.”
Whether Root will be making his GTA debut next spring or not, Heder certainly would’ve saved himself a lot of trouble by heeding Hank’s advice: “Why would anyone smoke weed when they could just mow a lawn?”
