Kevin Hart Reveals His True Height
Google “Kevin Hart height” and your answer will vary according to which site comes up first. As Anderson Cooper noted this weekend on 60 Minutes, GQ lists the comic’s height at 5-foot-5, The Los Angeles Times reports him at 5-foot-4, and “another site” knocked the measurement all the way down to 5’2”. (“Well, that place is bullshit,” said Hart.) The diminutive comedian finally set the record straight once and for all — sort of.
“GQ finally got it right," Hart says, confirming that he’s “5-foot-5, like with a shoe on, like a sneaker. Now, if I put a boot on, I can get to 5’5″ and a half.”
It doesn’t take much Internet sleuthing to see how many inches “a sneaker” can add to a short king’s height. According to online shoe retailer Kizik, sneakers add one to two inches to one’s vertical. Let me get out a pencil and do the math here. Depending on the sneaker — and I’m guessing Kevin Hart doesn’t opt for the least elevated version of the shoe — he’s adding two inches, putting his actual height closer to 5-foot-3. The website that was “bullshit” came closer to reality than the other sources.
If we really want to get real, let’s remember that Hart reluctantly admitted to being 5-foot-2 when he did a GQ Lie Detector Test video in 2019. Hooked up to the deception machine, he worked his way through a series of jokes before admitting that he’s self-conscious about his height.
But at least Hart has a sense of humor about it. Self-deprecating jokes about his stature have been part of the comic’s schtick for years, including this bit about a friend suggesting he invest in a pair of leg extensions. Easier said than done, Hart says. “I can't just walk out this bitch, 6’6”, and not say shit about it.”
He’s short. So what? “It’s talking about the things that you aren’t afraid to laugh at about yourself,” he says. “I’m really confident that the laugh that I’m getting, you’re not laughing necessarily at me as if I’m a joke. You’re laughing at the experience. I’m giving you an experience through a story that is relatable. And more importantly, I’m saying things that other people just don’t have the heart to say.”
It takes a real man to admit your wife watches tall-guy porn, as Hart does in another comedy bit. “Why is he so tall? Is that what you want?” Hart wondered about his wife’s PornHub choice. Some of the videos weren’t even porn — just tall guys changing lightbulbs and doing other tall-guy stuff. “It was real. We had a real conversation off of that. I can't fix that. We got a problem.”
Good thing for Hart that being a billionaire — or dang close to it – solves a lot of relationship issues.
