There’s been a lot of discourse over the role of sex scenes in movies lately, but regardless of whether you believe a well-written sex scene can advance a plot and deepen our understanding of characters or even the artsiest romp is never useful, we can all agree that some of them are just straight-up bad. Maybe it’s a period piece that takes place before modern hygiene, or the dirty talk is cringey, or no matter how many diagrams you draw, you can’t figure out how that position is supposed to work.
Whatever the case, it completely takes you out of the movie and gives you whatever the opposite of a boner is. As a result, Reddit had plenty to talk about when user Orion2200 asked r/AskReddit, “What movie has the worst sex scene?” A lot of users thought it was hilarious to list scenes depicting assault, and we’re not going to get into the difference here for so many reasons, especially when there’s so much unshowered, unrealistic, awkward pool-flopping to discuss.
