Despite Jack Black’s show-stopping performance as Bowser in the critically-maligned, audience-beloved Super Mario Bros. Move, he and his Tenacious D partner Kyle Gass need you to know that he isn’t, like, into video games. Just God of War. And a little Red Dead Redemption. And Fallout. And Sonic the Hedgehog, and, of course, the Mario series. Okay, Jack Black might love video games.

Yesterday, Tenacious D released the official video for their new banjo-shredding single “Video Games.” The short, sleek romp was created and directed by prominent YouTube animator Chris “Oney” O’Neill, and “Video Games” is dripping with effort and production value in a manner not unlike Black’s most recent box office megahit.
