Dolly Parton Recreates 1978 'Playboy' Cover In a Sweet Birthday Gift For Her Husband
Ahhh, Dolly Parton. Beloved musician, cinema icon, theme park entrepreneur, literacy champion, literal lifesaver, and 75-year-old Playboy model? Yep, earlier this week, Miss Parton took a break from existing as the one string holding America together in these incredibly trying times to celebrate #HotGirlSummer, gifting her husband, Carl Thomas Dean a sweet surprise for his 79th birthday – a recreation of her iconic 1978 Playboy magazine cover.
“You're probably wondering why I'm dressed like this." said Parton in a video posted to social media, sporting a black bunny suit and matching ears. "Well, it's for my husband's birthday. Remember some time back I said I was gonna pose on Playboy magazine when I'm 75? Well, I'm 75 and they don't have a magazine anymore, but my husband always loved the original cover of Playboy."
Although the singer noted that she looks a tad different than she did in the original iteration, joking that in the original she was "kind of a butter-ball," but now she' “string cheese now," the star says the tribute is a testament to how her husband will always love her … and find her hot af. “I was trying to think of something to do to make him happy,” Parton continued. "He still thinks I'm a hot chick after 57 years and I'm not gonna try to talk him out of that."
So, folks, here's to Dolly and Carl. After 55 years of marriage, Jolene's got nothing on them.
