Doctor Strange Sequel Strives To Be 'The Scariest Marvel Movie' Elizabeth Olsen Says

By:

Aside from its mysterious albeit evidently pertinent relation to WandaVision, it seems there is one other thing we know for sure surrounding 2022's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness – it is bound to be scary as all Hell, at least according to Wanda Maximoff herself, Elizabeth Olsen.

“It’s a very scary movie,” Olsen said during a Zoom Q & A session hosted by New York Film Academy. “It’s old Sam Raimi. They’re trying to create the scariest Marvel movie. So there’s that."

Yet as Comic Book Review noted, this is far from the first time Marvel insiders have hyped up the fear factor of Doctor Strange 2. Touted as having a scarier feel than the MCU's other offerings amid its 2019 announcement, several fans raised their eyebrows when Marvel President Kevin Feige mentioned that the film would be rated PG-13, according to ScreenRant. That said, Feige later clarified that although the film would not be explicitly classified as a horror flick, it would still be scary, a notion Olsen has consistently echoed while speaking to the press.

"It’s a bonkers movie," Olsen told Glamour UK of the project back in April. “they’re definitely going for that horror show vibe.”
