I Guess Someone Had To Turn Baby Yoda, Shrek, and Remy from 'Ratatouille' Into Hyper-Muscular Cakes

We're uncomfortable.
I Guess Someone Had To Turn Baby Yoda, Shrek, and Remy from 'Ratatouille' Into Hyper-Muscular Cakes

Reader, have you ever wondered what beloved, meme-y cartoon characters like Baby Yoda and Shrek would look like if they could bench 450 lbs? Are you a fan of feeling absolutely uncomfortable? Do you wish awkward fan illustrations were a bit more … edible? Well, folks, once again, TikTok has provided us with the realization of our most deranged fever dereams, this time, immortalizing our favorite dweeby cartoon characters as extremely buff confections.

With humble beginnings as a relatively normal baking page last July, @bakingthursdays origin story was like that of several other cooking accounts, depicting 60-second tutorials on how to make cute, quirky, and relatively normal baked goods, including cinnamon roll french toast, Stormtrooper cupcakes, and buns designed to look like a floofy corgi butt.

Following these humble, albeit delicious, beginnings, Amanda, the baker behind @bakingthursdays, according to the page's bio, began to delve into portraiture, creating in-depth sugary depictions of beloved cartoon characters, including Monster Inc's Wazowski, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia's Frank Reynolds, and Peppa Pig.

Shortly after, it seems Amanda took some potentially steroid-filled artistic liberty with her designs, making almost every character she carved into fondant and sugar bodybuilder level swole. From Shrek …

… Carl Weezer from Nickelodeon's 2000's hit, Jimmy Neutron …

… Waluigi himself …

… and of course, Baby Yoda from The Mandalorian

… Amanda has gone all in with her new signature art style, a highly-polarizing move. With several of her videos earning upwards of one million views, and her page boasting more than 202,000 on the video-sharing platform, it seems TikTok-ing teens can't get enough of her muscular creations. Yet much like everything else on the internet, @bakingthursdays has its own fair share of haters, individuals apparently offended by the prospects of Ratatouille's leading rat, Remy, and Simon from Alvin and the Chipmunks hitting the gym, expressing their disgust and alarm in the comments.

“Ayo what is your problem,” wrote one user in response to her Mandalorian-themed video. “How am I supposed to compete with these un realistic male standards,” added another upon seeing Luigi's fitness transformation. In the face of the blowback, Amanda has seemingly taken this criticism in stride, sending a pointed message to her haters, lip-syncing along to “I'm Just Your Problem" from the “What Was Missing" episode of Adventure Time, a viral sound on the app.

“Oh, you don't like that? Or do you just not like me?” she said, mouthing along to Marceline the Vampire Queen's lyrics, the caption “When people say my buff cakes are ‘disturbing’ and 'uncomfortable" appearing beside her before delving into a montage of her awkwardly ripped cartoon desserts.

So folks, as we learned last July, everything can be cake – and apparently, that includes several of your favorite animated characters in an uncomfortably ripped fashion. Bon appetite!
