Iconic Actors That Took an Awful Role Nobody Remembers

Role of shame

If you ever thought that some actors don't have any bad movies, think again. Everyone has to start somewhere before becoming popular and winning awards, and those first roles can't all be winners. Some of the most prestigious talents on the planet have at least one or two roles they regret accepting, even though everything they did helped them become the movie stars they currently are.

Some of these decisions come early in their careers, while others come pretty late, when they're tired of learning entire scripts, and they just want easy money. So, here are some iconic actors who took an awful role nobody remembers.

Al Pacino - Jack & Jill

Al Pacino played himself in more than one way in Adam Sandler's Jack & Jill.

Leonardo DiCaprio - Critters 3

Before being one of the most popular young actors ever, DiCaprio had to start small.

George Clooney - Return of the Killer Tomatoes!

Every actor has to do at least one really bad horror B-movie if they want to succeed.

Ben Kingsley - BloodRayne

Working with director Uwe Boll is a choice.

Sean Connery - The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen

A movie based on Alan Moore's comic that gathers iconic fictional characters in one story sounded great on paper, but it was so bad that it pushed Connery to finally quit acting.

Jeff Bridges - RIPD

Kevin Bacon was in it, too, but luckily, no one remembers.

Halle Berry - Gothika

A horror movie with a pretty good cast, but not worthy of the first black woman who won an Oscar.

Gary Oldman - Tiptoes

Not only does Gary Oldman play a man with dwarfism in this movie, but he also tries and fails miserably to sustain an American accent through the whole ordeal.

Emma Thompson - Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang

When you think of Emma Thompson, you don't think of her work as Nanny McPhee, but she did two of those movies, and a third isn't completely discarded yet.

Denzel Washington - Heart Condition

A pretty inconsistent romantic dramedy had to happen for Denzel to start winning awards.

Robert De Niro - Dirty Grandpa

De Niro's career has pivoted to playing awful one-dimensional roles in comedies with lots of farts and dirty jokes, except when Scorsese gives him a call.

Forest Whitaker - Battlefield Earth

The entire cast of this movie regrets being part of it, but, luckily for them, it was pretty much forgotten.

Nicole Kidman - Peacemaker

A box office and critical failure that no one remembers because it's right in between some of Kidman's best performances.

Julianne Moore - Seventh Son

Moore played the generic villain in a dull fantasy movie, and the reasons are still a mystery.

Judi Dench - Cats

No one in Cats is safe, and they should all be in this list, but Judi Dench is the only Dame, so we thought she'd know better.
