Unforgettable Figures We’ve All Forgotten Already
Viral videos can make someone famous for a few days. A week, tops, if they are quick enough to capitalize on their newfound success. But usually, that's it, and the internet goes on to the next viral thing, repeating the cycle forever. Before the internet, however, there wasn't an infinite amount of content to scroll through, so the celebrity status really meant something. Big names were actually big, and it took real talent and a lot of effort to stay relevant. But if you did, you could stay at the top for as long as you wanted.
The internet made everything go a lot faster, so if you're not starring in a movie every couple of years, people will forget about you, no matter how many times they laughed with your jokes or cried with your candid performances.
So, here are some unforgettable figures from the past that we've all forgotten already.
Taylor Dayne
The voice behind the legendary hit Tell It to My Heart still sounds in movies and TV shows, but nobody's asking about her career.
Tara Reid
With a very strange career with lots of ups and downs, Tara Reid became the face of the Sharknado franchise for a bit before going back to the shadows.
Steven Seagal
He did a bunch of direct-to-video action movies in the 2010s but hasn't been around since the pandemic.
Robby Benson
He was a heartthrob in the ‘80s, but was quickly forgotten after the 2000s. He was in Severance for a bit, and people recognized his blue eyes, but that’s it.
Ricki Lake
She was great in Hairspray and had her own TV shows later on, but after that…
Rick Moranis
The acclaimed actor retired after his wife passed away, so he hasn't been around in decades. He's coming back for Spaceballs 2, though!
Peter Frampton
Everyone had one of his cassette tapes or a record, but today, nobody remembers his name.
MC Hammer
Can't Touch This isn't as relevant as it once was, and he's drifted away from music to pursue more noble causes.
Leif Garrett
Another heartthrob that seemingly disappeared without a trace. He's still at it, but it's clearly not the same.
Judge Reinhold
An unforgettable face of the ‘80s and ’90s, he hasn't done anything big since, but he's always there when Eddie Murphy calls.
Fabio
Being a long-haired hunk wasn't supposed to last.
Eliza Dushku
The Buffy the Vampire Slayer actress defined the '90s and the 2000s, but later retired to become a therapist and mental health advocate.
Bridget Fonda
Bridget Fonda also took the '90s by storm, but retired at her peak to pursue a very different life, away from the spotlight.
Judd Nelson
Remember the criminal from the Breakfast Club?
Tim Robbins
Fantastic actor and a presence on screen, but hasn't been around much. He's doing TV shows, but that's far from what his name meant in the ‘80s and ’90s.
